Rahill Family Photos

This is a photo of one of the Rahill men. I belive it to be Joseph Rahill, son of William Rahill and Mary Fanning Rahill. Since their were several firemen in family according to various years of census records, I can not confirm the exact identity of this man.

Rahill Girls

This is a photo of Timothy Fanning and Margaret (nee Mockler) Rahill's daughters. From Left to Right: Unknown Rahill, Margaret (nee Rahill) Fanning and Jane (nee Rahill) Hodgson.

The folks in the picture to left are Rahills. Jane Loretta Rahill is seated at bottom left. Her Father Captain Timothy Fanning Rahill is in the center. Her sister Kate Rahill Rekhlau is standing behind Timothy. The rest are still a mystery!

Jane (nee Rahill) Hodgson and Kate (nee Rahill) Reklahu

This photo was taken in Newark, NY sometime before before Kate's death in 1938.

KATE RAHILL REKLAHU

I believe Kate Rahill to be the first born child of Timothy and Margaret Rahill. She was born in Buffalo, NY in 1863. Family stories reveal that she was a trained Catholic nurse. She appears in Buffalo City directories as employed at the Buffalo City Almshouse. A detailed account on the necrology of the Rahill family written in 1946 by John Welsh (Wells) Rahill states that she attended the Pan American Exposition in 1901 and was only four persons away from President McKinley when he was shot. She was attending the expo with her brother Edward Rahill (b. 1869) who at the time was serving as the Postmaster of the Expostion.

Timothy Fanning Rahill

Timothy Rahill was born in Thurles Grange, Tipperray Ireland. He came to America while a young boy. He lived most of his life in Buffalo, NY where he was a Captain on the Great Lakes. He is buried in Holy Cross Cemetery in Lackawana, NY.
