My first known Appleton is Alpheus Appleton. He was the son of Robert Hayne Appleton and Harriet Carden. He married Margaret Cross October 23, 1903 in DeKalb County, Alabama. They had four children: Hugh Cardon, Luther, Frank and Kathleen Appleton. According to the 1920 US Census all these children were born in Alabama. On the 1920 census Maggie (nee Cross) Appleton sister Fannie Cross was living with them.

They only thing I know about this family of is that Kathleen's three brothers died, one at the age of 12, one at the age 24, and one at the age of 48.

The twelve year old brother had just gotten a new gun for his birthday and set it down in the barn and it went off. He was taken to the nearest town for medical attention but died from blood loss. If you have any information on this family send email to GENQUEST.COM
